Preparedness for 2011

So of course you really can't have enough firepower against those nasty zombies. Well, just ask Milla.

I've been on autopilot a bit of late, but I'm stocking up munitions in preparation for the zombie war in 2011.

In honor of the release of Milla Jovovich's wonderful fourth installment, Resident Evil: Afterlife, from the endlessly maligned Resident Evil franchise I thought it might be fun to usher in the new year by giving away my two Resident Evil DVD classics. Honestly, I love them all. They are the epitome of the guilty pleasure.

Resident Evil by Paul W.S. Anderson is the one that kicked it off and would probably make my Top 10 Science Fiction film classics list, but it would be more like an umbrella [no pun intended] choice to represent all of the terrific chapters in the ongoing saga. In fact, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, is a personal favorite. I love the entire Nemesis thread in the aforementioned film and it is a kind of contemporary tribute to the John Carpenter classic, Escape From New York, in mood and style. So, if you're so inclined, please submit your mailing address and they will be shipped to you free of charge as a small thank you for always visiting. Happy New Year to you all and remember [words to live by] - you can never be too prepared.

I actually got the first 3 films for Halloween but that is mighty altruistic of you! Ever since I got turned onto this blog I've been a big, big fan. I may not leave comments to every post but I read 'em all and have thoroughly enjoyed your thoughts on genre shows and films. You see so many blogs dedicated to the horror genre and it so refreshing to see one dedicated to all things science fiction! I look forward to what you've got in store for the New Year.

Thanks so much J.D. Likewise, I'm a complete Radiator Heaven addict. I don't always write, often times because I simply don't have a grasp of the material, but I do read them and you've brought so many amazing posts to the table in 2010. Additionally, I enjoy your blog so much I've gone back to the archives and it's hard to find the time to do that for just anyone. Keep up the amazing work and thank you my friend. SFF

I don't know if I'd be into them now, but I liked the first and second one back when I originally watched them. I had a massive crush on Michelle Rodriguez, so that was one of the biggest reasons I checked them out.

Never seen any past the first two. That is, indeed, a generous offer SFF. But I guess I am trying to make the switch to blu-ray.

Hey, right there with you.

I'm moving to Blu-Ray myself and why not spread a little joy to those who might have just a passing interest in the franchise without them having to invest in the Blu-Rays.

Rodriguez is beautiful, but has been a little one dimensional along the way. I was expecting a bit more from her since those foirst films and it hasn't quite panned out that way. Cheers!

I also like Rodriguez and it was cool to see her pop up in AVATAR. I even dig her in guilty pleasures like BLUE CRUSH. Shame she didn't last beyond the first RESIDENT EVIL.

Yes, guilty too, Blue Crush. Likin' it! : )

Great post to a thoroughly underrated and overly maligned series, SFF. Having finally caught up with the latest installment this week all I can say is that I loved the sneak at its end to the next chapter and look forward to whatever Paul (I knew him before the W.S. middle initials) Anderson has next. Thanks for this.
