Dani Cavallaro: On Animating

"No reality brought into existence by the animator's pencil ever crystallizes into a conclusive plateau of meaning: in fact, it represents first and foremost a springboard to an indefinite series of other parallel universes. ... no stylistic formula ever asserts itself as a dogma... it's function actually being to encourage ongoing experimentation with alternative formulae."

-Dani Cavallaro, The Art Of Studio Gainax, 2009, p.11-

... And universes upon universes, mythologies upon mythologies are created once upon a time by the sheer act of pencil to paper (a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away) all from the deep, penetrating imagination of a single creator.
