Starlog Magazine 135
Star Trek: The Next Generation's The Big Goodbye (Season One, Episode 12) graced the cover of Starlog Magazine #135. How I do miss the now defunct monthly publication which began in August 1976 and said goodbye with its final issue in April 2009.
hA, I had that issue, I loved this magazine. Before the internet, this one, Premiere and Fangoria where the ones to keep me up to date on movies.
ReplyDeleteTrue. At least Fangoria is still going for horror fans.
ReplyDeleteI wish they had kept Fangoria and Starlog and maybe rotated them every other month.
Either way, all of the science fiction I truly adore is in the issues that exist and I suppose the few I need to get are out there for the picking.
I was a faithful reader of Starlog through almost its entire run. I really miss it.
ReplyDeleteI would give them to you if I still had them, but so many moves, so many things lost in the shuffle, I must have thrown them away, I remember having tons of them though, I loved them. I also read Comic Scene, a magazine done by the guys from Starlog, but about comic books.
ReplyDeleteAaah, the memories.
Oh, I loved Comic Scene. Another great magazine dedicated to the things we love. The guys behind those magazines really were the best. The editors, writers and interviewers were top of the line.
ReplyDeleteBut Francisco you read my mind my friend. I was going to joke with you and offer a trade for those Starlog Magazines like we used to do when we were kids trading cards and comics. :) Great memories indeed.
I'm not sure why it didn't post but this came by way of Wordboy and all I can say is ... amen!

Thank you for that exceptional link from me and for those reading here.
ReplyDeleteIt is much appreciated.
I loved STARLOG as a kid and religiously collected them every month. Before the Internet it was the only way for me to get the lowdown on my fave SF/fantasy movies. I still remember the first issue I ever bought had Harrison Ford on the cover from TEMPLE OF DOOM. Ah, good times.
ReplyDeleteSo right. We remember the covers! I remember some of my favorites too.
ReplyDeleteStarlog always had terrific cover designers! I would want that job especially if it paid well, which it probably doesn't.
