Thanks for the Chariot of Fire video, S-FF. I had a rough day at lab today and I needed a good chuckle. I was a wee mad scientist when Lost in Space first aired and I still look back fondly to that first black and white season. Even as a child, I wondered why Lost in Space went from being a space-adventure show and became a space-comedy. Of course, as a teenager watching it in endless reruns, I enjoyed the funny LIS better, because I could appreciate the marvelous comedic performances of Jonathan Harris as Dr. Zachary Smith. His repartee with The Robot always made me laugh. “You bubble-headed booby”, is still a hoot!

ReplyDeleteCheers Doc. Sorry about the day at the lab.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Lost In Space lost its way, but great point on your part.
Jonathan Harris really lured me in to watch the colorful later episodes of LIS and his colorful antics.
Somehow I managed to appreciate both LIS styles, but it does get silly at times and you have to laugh with it. So well said.
