Michael, Cannon, myself....You are not alone Franco. Michael, Cannon, myself. We are all completely on board with you on this one.

It's a phenomenally creative fun throwback to great fun monster films.

So definitely, I could see some Rodan there. I could definitely see things in a lot of spots whether intentional or not. I remember a cowering girl in the original Godzilla.

I know del Toro made efforts when speaking with his creative people on the film not to DIRECTLY refer to a specific mech or creature.

They made these efforts so that they didn't intentionally imitate them, but there was indeed an effort to absolutely love up the kaiju and mech genre and that really came across fo all of us.

I heard they were trying to go with a kind of cowboy swagger for Gipsy and that's there as well. Just brilliant all around!

Given Godzilla is in Gareth's hands I expect, myself, to see something quite different for Godzilla next summer.

I expect a quite different, earhier tone to that film over this neon approach to Pacific Rim.

So I am expecting considerable differentiation myself. But like you Franco I'm terribly excited and can't wait to see what they do with that lizard. I hope it looks magnificent.

I also agree that Pacific Rim continues to take in money and pray that a sequel announcement is imminent. Fingers crossed pal.
Btw, welcome back. You were clearly missed! But you know how to vacation, I really need to learn from you.

And Michael, being a proper father - of course ;) But I knew what kind of Dad you were long before Pacific Rim - the best. Many thanks guys.SFFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04256589316922398158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1031498593064294214.post-44191420807927450912013-07-31T14:15:41.749-04:002013-07-31T14:15:41.749-04:00I may take it in for a third time just so my daugh...I may take it in for a third time just so my daughter can watch it. It's like you can't take your eyes off the movie...my review for it was equally as enthusiastic and same as you, I had a nerd gasm after seeing it, seen it twice already! Second time was on 3D, to my surprise I enjoyed it 3D as well! Awesome movie, I'm glad it's made it's money back, I hope it continues making money in theaters, this movie ruled.

I'm so curious for the new Godzilla movie, I'm wondering how they'll make it different to Pacific Rim, Im mean they are both similar in theme, but Im so curious as to how theyll make it stand on its own when compared to Pacific Rim. ...HA! love it. Completely adding to the geek out.

Those lines are great in the film. How about when Perlman talks about fertilizing fields with that crap.

Charlie Day is great in his role. "I can't tell you, but it is cool. I could tell you. Okay I'll tell you." (Paraphrasing) he deserves a lot of credit for bringing that role to life.

In fact, the characterizations in Pacific Rim remind me of the wonderful characterizations that populated that Hellboy franchise. Lots of character and different sorts of characters.

Great stuff Cannon! I'd say your addicted too.

And I'm assuming you stayed until the end of the credits right!?SFFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04256589316922398158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1031498593064294214.post-90238170920294949972013-07-30T12:25:13.868-04:002013-07-30T12:25:13.868-04:00"I need to access a Kaiju brain, completely i...
"I need to access a Kaiju brain, completely intact."

"No, no, no ...the skull plate is so dense that by the time you drill it–"

"–the brains rotted away, but I’m talking about a secondary brain. Now we both know that the kaiju are so large that they need two brains to move around, like the dinosaurs. I wanna get my hands on that."

"What the hell you want a secondary brain for, anyway?! I mean every part of the kaiju sells! Cartilage, spleen, liver. Even the CRAP! But the brain? TOO MUCH AMMONIA!"Cannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12886860130286869992noreply@blogger.com
