I just taped mine off the SF channel. I thought it was okay or really above average. I do think like you said, you just have to go with certain concepts, perhaps because it's an early anime it's a bit naive or not as fleshed out with some of the story, but then when compared to American super heroes it's about the same. They are given an origin and just go on from there--good vs. evil prevails. Also as you said I think it's made for a younger audience. All in all though it's worthwhile, if you enjoy earlier anime.
