I enjoyed the movie a lot as well.

Re: Coming of Age--that's one creepy alien, eh? When I was introduced to Westley's character it was a bit of an eye roll for me--the genus child, I don't know if he felt like a comic book cliche to me or what, and I still can't say he's my favorite character on Next Gen, but I had to grow into him, and he's okay. No question about it.

It's notable how Picard is coming along, but in more general terms, I like how you frame the fact Picard started out somewhere else too.

We are always growing as you say.
Thanks JohnSFFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04256589316922398158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1031498593064294214.post-61804595966881945992014-03-14T09:12:47.848-04:002014-03-14T09:12:47.848-04:00Hi SFF:

The more we write, the better we get.

I look back at some of my writing in the 1990s (and even 2000s) and think...I could have done that better! D'oh!

We are all, always, coming of age.

What's nice about this episode is the window into Picard's character.

He wasn't always the poised, elder statesman. He too started somewhere...else.

Best,
JohnJohn Kenneth Muirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15629979615332893780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1031498593064294214.post-29875427345772993582014-03-13T11:14:29.323-04:002014-03-13T11:14:29.323-04:00Gracias Mike.
