In my own mind, I just substitute something like 'two distinct brain-wave patterns, from one brain.' Of course, instead of a thermal image of Regina's skull, it should be an EEG readout for my substitution to work.

Hmm... how about this: the image could be crystal clear, except for the brain(s) being blurry, like a double-exposure, as if there were two brains phasing in and out with each other. No, I don't know how that could physically occur without killing poor Regina outright, but at least it would give a visual match to Bergman's ridiculous line.

OK, I give up. It just doesn't work because it was a bad line. But it was fun trying...

Looking forward to continuing reading your reviews!

Craig R.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1031498593064294214.post-42764397420027595352012-04-26T10:49:21.348-04:002012-04-26T10:49:21.348-04:00Wow. That is really terrific insight and brings that odd, little segment into focus.

It really did seem out of place to the rest of Byrne's script here. But, right or wrong, such is the luxury of a decision by the likes of producer/ creator Gerry Anderson. I suppose, despite his genius, he couldn't always get it right. :)

Still, your input is helpful and makes a bit of sense. Anderson always demonstrates a flare for the fantastic and maybe, at times, the unbelievable, and this "two brains" bit definitely fits within his MO [modus operandi]. Byrne was more science fiction and mystery, but even that seemed to stretch his willingness to part with logic. Byrne clearly works outside of formula, but this was pushing it. :)

Thank you for the kind words too.SFFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04256589316922398158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1031498593064294214.post-21122400240726151012010-03-13T12:05:00.888-05:002010-03-13T12:05:00.888-05:00Sci-Fi Fanatic:

What a great tribute to a wonderful episode!

And I just want to add one little notation, for Johnny Byrne. He informed me during one of our conversations that it was actually Gerry Anderson who demanded the insertion of the "Two Brains" dialogue in "Another Time, Another Place." Johnny cringed every time he saw that scene, or heard that description! Just like we do! :)John Kenneth Muirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15629979615332893780noreply@blogger.com
