I might substitute John Carpenter's The Thing, or if sticking with Spielberg go for his Close Encounters. <br /><br />I prefer the first Terminator film over the sequel too. Otherwise I agree, great list. Other films that might be on mine, and here I find it hard to choose (as you said there's just too many great SF films), but 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mysterious Island, and In Search of the Castaways.
